Fargo ND

We returned yesterday from a last minute install in Fargo.  The hotel was busy and Rita worked some long hours.  Didn't see much of Fargo but it seems like a nice town with lot's going on.  There was construction going on and signs for help wanted on a number of places.  Their economy seems to be doing fine.

Renaissance Center, Detroit, MI

Oct 2nd thru the 4th.  We got to stay on the 50th floor of the Marriott in downtown Detroit.  We had a great view of Windsor across the Detroit River and of Lake St. Clair.  Rita was here for a different job with her company.  We loved the nice room and the room service!

Mansfield, LA

We're just finishing up a week here in Mansfield at a new hotel.  They discovered a natural gas field (Haynesville Shale) in 2008 here and the town is changing still.  It looks like it was a sleepy little town on a state highway and it now has 3 brand new hotels, fast food restaurants and lot's of traffic.  Rita was told yesterday that one of the best places to eat is the local hospital cafeteria.  The construction workers have filled up the hotels, rentals and rv spaces. 

Oscoda MI

We had a great RV vacation here from the 15th thru the 19th of September.  Visited the Lumberman's Memorial - great view.  Shopped in Tawas.  Very relaxing.

Cincinnati OH

August 7th thru the 14th.  We drive down here and Rita was very busy all week and didn't get a chance to see anything of Cincinnati.  The hotel was in the midst of being remodeled, switching brands and installing the new computer system!!! 

Hudsonville, MI

July 27th to the 29th.  We made a short trip to fix some problems at a hotel here.  Had some great Chinese food at a little place. 

Overland Park KS

We've been here a few days.  It's been very hot - near the 100 mark and humid. 

Overland Park has lots of trees and every franchise you can think of.  It's been rated one of the top places to live.

Rita has been working very hard and we've been staying in the nice ac room.

Harbor Beach

We went camping at our favorite park near Harbor Beach right on Lake Huron.  Just three days but lovely weather and only a few people at the campground during the week.  We came home the friday before the 4th of July.

June 2011 - North Lima and Port Clinton OH

On the 9th of June we went to N. Lima, Oh.  This was a longer drive than our last visit to Ohio but an easy journey.  The GM and staff at the hotel were very nice but a little crazy with the changeover from one brand to another.  Didn't get to see much of the area.

While we were in N Lima we got word that the site in Port Clinton got their approval for occupancy and they were sending Rita back to finish the installation.  So we drove back to Port Clinton and stayed at the hotel.  They had finished almost all of the renovations and the hotel lobby and our room were great.  The weather was nice and we even got to spend a little time sitting on a bench watching the sunset over Lake Erie.  It was only a 2.5 hour trip back home.

Memorial Day Weekend

We went camping at a nice park near Bad Axe, Mi with family over the Memorial Day weekend.  Rita's new Dodge pickup was great for towing the trailer.  We had some rain but it was a nice vacation.

May 2011

Left for Sandusky, OH on the 9th of May.  It was a good week with few problems.  The first couple of days the hotel was still getting ready to open. 

On the 16th we went to Port Clinton, OH.  This hotel was not open yet either so we stayed at another hotel down the street.  Both hotels are right on Lake Erie.  I finished training but the hotel did not receive their occupancy ok from the city so the bosses sent us home on the 20th.  We drove for this trip and so we had nice short travel days.

April 2011

No jobs in April, so no exciting adventures.

Marine City

We were supposed to be going to Virginia tomorrow but Rita got sick.  She can barely croak so she can't yell at us!

Columbus, OH

Rita got a last minute assignment and we arrived here last Sunday.  It's warmed up over the last couple of days but a storm is coming and we should make it home before it gets too bad.

This has been a rather quiet week.  The staff is very nice and there were just minor problems.  We've been here before and would have liked to visit German Town again but alas, no time.  We go home tomorrow.

Sunny Day

Just to keep in touch;  we haven't gotten any traveling assignments this month.  It is a sunny day here in Michigan, the second one in a row.  That's probably some kind of winter record.   It's very cold with snow on the ground and the roofs. 

Romulus, MI

Wow, we're way behind.  We spent a very cold week in Romulus earlier this month.  Rita liked it because it was a short drive from home.  Lot's of equipment problems but everything worked out.  We stayed inside because it was very cold, so we didn't take any pictures.
